Yelpie iPod Protection Safe

Yelpie! This may be a good contraption for the summer season because of the rampant thievery in beaches today. Picture this in your head, you and your friends are enjoying a good swim in the beach and when you swim for the shore to have a break, you realize that a lot of your belongings are missing – your iPod, your cell phone, and your clothes! It happens.

So an Australian company named Beachgard Pty. Ltd., came up with a possible solution so that scenario won’t happen to you. The gadget, tagged as Yelpie, is basically an electronic safety deposit box that could hold most of your valuables such as mp3 players, mobile phones, PDA‘s and other what-have yous. Designate a PIN code so that you’ll be the only one who could open the safe up.

It boasts of features such as the membrane keypad which is weather-resistant keypad that is used to show its status. It also has a motion sensor and a 90 Decibel piezoelectric alarm so when thieves try to steal the whole thing, it will produce a sound that will catch your attention and that of other beachgoers. The motion sensor also makes Yelpie smart – a harmless and ordinary bump is not going to trigger the alarm.

It also has a detachable strap which can be detached and threaded through items like bags for added protection. The storage compartment is approximately 260 mm long, 140 mm wide and 80mm deep – which could hold 2 wallets, an MP3 player, a digital camera, 2 mobile phones, sunglasses and 2 sets of keys, with room to spare. Full UV protection on all components is also guaranteed according to the company.

It will cost you $70 bucks which is a small amount to pay for security in today’s world
