Nintendo also disclosed that 4.7 million classic games have been downloaded from that period, giving the rate of around 1,000 games every hour. While some have spoken about the rather high prices of the games, the large amount of downloads show that they’re priced perfectly.

Nintendo of America (NoA) Senior VP of Marketing and Corporate Communication George Harrison spoke about the appeal of the online services of the Wii to the public,

With an Internet connection rate reaching 40%, Wii owners have more options than ever to find the kinds of games they love to play. Beyond the Wii Shop Channel, all types of people are getting connected and checking out the information and entertainment options available on the Wii Menu.
