Druids get some love, and Hunters too

Woots abound in the WoW Europe forums as Blizzard poster Ommra has announced some very interesting news. This has something to do with the Druid’s flight form.

Ommra announced that Druids will get an epic flight form via quest obtainable at level 70 that will be implemented in a future patch. This goes on top of the trainable level 68 Flight Form ability (Storm Crow form) which enables them to move at 60%.

The new epic flight form will go at an epic rate of 280% plus “additional stats” and still carries the same restrictions as the Storm Crow form (and this can only be used in Outland). It’s a bit of a bummer, yes. But think F1 racing compared to the former rate of the regular flight form. And Druids will need to get the epic flying mount riding skill as a prerequisite for the said quest.

And a bit on Hunter’s pets. Remember the announcement a couple of days back regarding Warlock’s pets? Hunter’s pets will get the same treatment as they (the pets) will despawn when players ride a flying mount. The pets reappear when you dismount to save soul shards for resummoning. This would also be implemented for regular mounts and flight paths.

This would be implemented in a future patch, though it hasn’t been announced when it will be released. Non-Druids would have to wait for future announcements as to what other changes would be made in the next patch.
