E3 2008 - Image 1This E3, Silent Hill: Homecoming (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) was confirmed for release on the PC. Now PC gaming fans can use those big specs to generate more intense horror on their turf. In addition, the return of one of the franchise’s true icons was also verified. Just who is this character? It ain’t Doctor Kaufmann we’re hinting at, we’ll tell you that much. The truth awaits in the full article.

Pyramid Head - Image 1Two very important things have been confirmed for Konami‘s Silent Hill: Homecoming (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) this E3. The first is that a PC version will indeed be released, and second is that an old fiend is coming back for a visit.

It is no other Pyramid Head, the iconic monster that gave players the chills back in Silent Hill 2. If the name doesn’t ring a bell, we’ll give you a bit of a refresher.

Pyramid Head is actually a nameless, non-speaking monster who wears an off-white, bloodstained robe and a triangular helmet which looks like it’s there to torment the wearer. Pyramid Head is one of the few masculine creepies in the game, and he groans and moans while chasing you around.

Pyramid Head often carries around an big knife or a spear to butcher players with, and he can deliver a headbutt that can take you out instantly. Worst of all, he has this strangle attack where he sticks out a tongue-like thing that stabs you. How’s that for creepiness and brutality?

Very little else is known about his origin and history or why he does what he does. If you ask me, that triangular helmet he wears explains why he’s in a bad mood all the time.
