HD-DVD B-Boy Advert and “This is Living”

As weirded out as some may be with Microsoft‘s Japanese Xbox 360 ad campaign, you’d have to admit that Microsoft’s ads are more catchy compared to Sony‘s ads. Well, that’s just my opinion, so don’t take my word for it. Now the “This is living” ad that PS3 has may be old, but I’m going to use it to get my point across.

Below are two YouTube videos. The first one is the older PS3 “This is living” ad. The second one is the new HD-DVD “B-boy” advert that Microsoft has.

See what I mean? While the PS3 ad has more depth and drama to it, it’s infinitely longer compared to the snappier, funnier Xbox 360 HD-DVD advert. Hopefully come November PS3 will snark things up a little bit when it comes to its ads, unless of course they’re trying to go for the “This is the rational choice” spin, the same way Nintendo is going with the “This is fun choice” angle.

So which style of commercial tickles your taste buds? Anyway, this reminds of that G4 Wii vs Nintendo ad. Fun stuff.
