More details on the Metal Gear 20th Anniversary titles

We’ve previously reported on the supposed Metal Gear 20th Anniversary titles that Konami will release in Japan. We tagged that report as rumor at the time because details on the titles, and if they are re-releases or remakes or whatever was a bit sparse and most the details was pretty much conjecture.

Well, now we are a bit more clear. The official word from Konami is that the 20th Anniversary Editions of the Metal Gear Solid titles (titles from Metal Gear Solid onwards) will be re-releases and will be available on Japanese retail come the 26th of July.

Again, for clarification, the titles and the prices are below:

• Metal Gear 20th Anniversary: Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2) – 2800 yen, or US$ 23.01
• Metal Gear 20th Anniversary: Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2) – 1800 yen, or US$ 14.79
• Metal Gear 20th Anniversary: Metal Gear Solid (PS) –  1500 yen, or US$ 12.00
• Metal Gear 20th Anniversary: Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (PSP) – 2800 yen, or US$ 23.01

Konami will also be releasing a bundle, which has all the titles from PS1 all the way to PSP, entitled Metal Gear 20th Anniversary: Metal Gear Solid Collection, and that will retail for 6,900 yen or US$ 56.71.

There is still no word however if the re-releases will have special packaging. The titles do hint at that heavily though. Also, there is no confirmation if the 20th Anniversary Editions will be released in other shores.
