It’s the weekend so it’s time to take a look back through the week and see what Nintendo has been up to. And to be quite frank, news has been pretty quiet at the Wii and DS blogs. Let’s keep it nice and easy this week and let’s talk about all them nostalgic games coming and the piracy that’s really getting to Nintendo.

Game News

  • Let’s start our nostalgic gaming with rumors going around that the first Silent Hill game is coming to the Wii and the PSP. Link
  • The rumors don’t stop there. Square Enix was seen filing for new IP called “The After Years” which sounds a little too familiar to Final Fantasy IV: After. Link
  • This one won’t qualify for nostalgia just yet, but it’s no rumor either. GTA: Chinatown Wars is coming to the DS. Link
  • Missing the old Nintendo classics? The Last Ninja, International Karate, and Pitstop II are making their way to the Virtual Console. Link
  • More nostalgia comes as our childhood laser-trotting heroes are Yo-Joe-ing themselves into the Wii or the PSP. Link
  • Just like the old games, MadWorld isn’t gonna run in 480p. This one actually sucks because MadWorld could have gone that extra step forward. Link

Nintendo News

  • Piracy is really getting to Nintendo. After being in the industry for so long and having their copyrights peed on, Nintendo is turning to the US Trade Rep for help. Link
  • Speaking of copyrights, someone isn’t too happy with Nintendo, Sony, and Nokia for using their wireless technology. Link
  • The DSi is getting three new colors in Japan: pink, green, and blue. Link

Homebrew News

  • It seems some Wii owners found waninkoko‘s DVD Info useful. Why not? It’s a pretty handy app to have. Let’s hope for updates on this one. Link
  • Same goes for Crediar‘s Preloader, which is now on v0.28. Link
  • The MPlayer CE got updated and with the fixed radio, improved samba reconnection and improved mounting devices, it’s working out pretty well. Link
