Warlocks and their pets’ names – you can’t win all the time

World of Warcraft warlock pet Felguard - Image 1What’s more annoying than the most annoying pet dialogue? Pet names. In the World of Warcraft, hunters can tame beasts and name them but warlocks summon demon pets and too bad the names are set to some random syllables. WoW Insider was able to dig up an old thread at the WoW forums that features the funniest pet names around.

There are some pretty cool names like Grimnos or Sarkresh but what if you get a name that makes you the butt of jokes. Like Lynnyn (cloth?), Quztip (ear cleaner), Karpit (a lot of players will want to lick your pet), and others. Would you want to do like an imp and say, “I think i need to see other demon pets”? There’s even a Krak’ho and a Vigana.

When you’re grinding or doing PvP, you’d want to instill fear into the hearts of your enemies with your demonic minions – but what will happen if your pet is named Karrot or Kraknutz? Of course, there’s also that chance that you’ll be having no problem beating your enemies since they have fallen off their chairs laughing.

The problem with letting players name their pets is that we might be seeing more inane and poorly conceived names. (You probably know what I mean.) So what do you think? Will it be better for Blizzard to have warlocks name their pets? Or would it be better to leave it at random?
